Google Nexus S or HTC Incredible S : Which one best for you??

If you looking into buying a new droid phone and feel yourself stuck choosing between these two fine models HTC Incredible S and Google Nexus S, then this blog will certainly help in finding what exactly you want. Both handsets have different features depending upon your area of interest. However there will not be any of the compromise in either of the smartphones in terms of speed and efficiency.

Comparision

Let’s have a look on both handsets’ features and help those desperate users who are confused to choose between Google Nexus S and HTC Incredible S.

First Look:

Looking at the dimensions of the two smartphones, I noticed Google Nexus S is taller and a bit narrower, thinner and lighter as compared to Incredible S. It features a 4.0 inch wide super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen whereas HTC Incredible S though features the same 4.0 inches wide touchscreen, it still looks more attractive than Nexus S. Google Nexus S does look like a very compact handset in the palm of the hand but does not impress us with its very rounded features, which almost resemble a bar of soap. The Nexus S features an oleophobic surface designed to repel oily fingerprints, and a contoured display with a curved glass screen, as well as multi-touch.
The display features are almost same for both except the presence of capacitive buttons on Incredible S and contoured screen of the Nexus S.

Technology:

HTC Incredible S and Nexus S both run with 1 GHz Scorpion processor, Incredible S operates on an older version of Android 2.2 Froyo. The Nexus S is powered with the latest version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread that makes the device one step ahead of Incredible S. However, Nexus S lacks microSD card slot as compared to HTC Incredible S.

Processor:

HTC Incredible S runs on 1 GHz Scorpion processor, Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset. The Google Nexus S also has 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor. Both the Qualcomm Snapdragon and ARM Cortex are powerful setups for these phones. This means neither of the two lacks in processing media, apps and games efficiently.

Camera:

On the positive side, HTC Incredible S features a brilliant 8 mega-pixel which captures at 3264 x 2448 resolution. This is area where the Incredible completely stands out. Google Nexus S is built with a 5 mega pixel camera with a resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels.

Looking at the price, then HTC Incredible S is slightly cheaper than Google Nexus S.

HTC Incredible S Vs HTC Desire HD : The decisive battle

The HTC Incredible S is a smartphone with innovative appearance having loads of features embedded inside it. It features a large 4-inch touchscreen with unique rubberized back cover. The handset supports an 8 mega-pixel camera with dual LED photo lights. We are not big fans of LED lights as it tends to emit a very bright and harsh light which is quite hard to bear. It has got a well designed widgets which on the other side compensated with an older version of Android that brings problem and speed degradation.

I also got chance to move my hands on the HTC Desire HD. At the first look, it appeared very bulky and huge to me. But as I further analyzed the handset, it appeared an ultimate phone with fast and responsive touchscreen. The handset comes with 8 mega pixel camera with again dual LED flash. The machined aluminium case feels wonderfully solid but looks too massive in hand. The social networking integration on Desire HD is awesome with impressing fast web browsing.

HTC Incredible S Vs HTC Desire HD

Despite of few features in common such as dual LED flash, the same 8 mega-pixel camera, the RAM amount (768 MB) along with the same processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread, I noticed many dissimilar features in HTC Incredible S and HTC Desire HD.

If HTC Incredible S has slighlty bigger battery of 1450mAh, a 1.3 mega pixel camera for video conferencing and weighs less as compared to HTC Desire HD, then HTC Desire HD also flaunts its larger 4.3 inches touchscreen, good standby time and more of on-board memory of 1.5 GB. Front facing camera is absent in Desire HD.

Price Comparison

the HTC Incredible S costs £500 SIM Free, £449.95 on PAYG and as little as £25 per month on a two year contract (Vodafone, 300 minutes, unlimited texts, no web data).

In comparison, the HTC Desire HD costs a mere £384.58 at Amazon and as little as £20.42 on a two year contract (100 minutes, unlimited text and 250MB data from Orange) or £35 per month on a one year contract (with an initial fee of £59, with 300 minutes, unlimited text messages, 500MB data allowance). So, would you pay £115 more for a front facing camera and a smaller device??
