Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tab : Can be better than iPad 2?
Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tab stands quite solid in a lightweight chassis with bright and colourful screen display. The Apple iPad may be leading the tablet market but the Samsung is throwing challenge over iPad with its Galaxy Tab 10.1 version.
Lightweight Body
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 weighs only 565g as compared to iPad 2 weighing about 600g. The weight however, does not seems to be far noticeable when held side-by-side. But if compared with heavy Motorola Xoom or Asus Eee Pad Transformer, the difference can be easily felt. Concentrating on the chassis, the iPad 2 is made up of smooth aluminium body which is appreciable over the plastic looking body of the Samsung Tab. However, the Samsung tab still appears pleasant as its waist measures 0.2 mm less than the iPad 2 and it measures 256.7 x 175.3 x 8.6mm.
The screen is further protected with the Gorilla Glass which guards the screen from any marks. The tablet is also embedded with PLS technology that makes the device with the brightest display till now.
Snapper
The tablet boasts its 3.15 mega pixel camera along with auto-focus and LED flash. It feels like Samsung is walking on Apple’s footsteps as there isn’t any button present on the front and there are no other slots such as microSD memory expansion. So now you will have to stick to the onboard memory provided to the device like 16GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.
Android and Processor
Interestingly, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is powered with the latest Android 3.0 Honeycomb running on Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor. The device will be available in three storage versions like 16/32/64 GB storage with 1 GB RAM. The connectivity options provided are less having just Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and there is no 3G options added to the device.
